Remarks by the Secretary General at the Congress opening ceremony

Your Highness, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Distinguished Ambassadors and Heads of Delegations,
Esteemed Delegates, Colleagues and Observers,
It is a profound honour, in my capacity as Secretary General, to address this 28th Universal Postal Congress today in the esteemed presence of the UPU member countries and all stakeholders gathered here.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for hosting this Congress, and to all those who have contributed to its successful organization. Your warm welcome and generous hospitality have been deeply appreciated by all participants.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and respect to the dedicated UAE team for their thoughtful collaboration and steadfast support. Likewise, I commend the staff of the International Bureau for their tireless efforts, which have been instrumental in making this Congress happen.
I believe this opening ceremony has given us the energy and focus we need for the important discussions ahead.
Once again, I extend my sincere appreciation to our host country for their invaluable contribution in facilitating this Congress.
