City of Yuma Launches “Access for All” Campaign to Promote ADA Awareness and Inclusion

The City of Yuma is launching Access for All, a community-wide outreach campaign designed to educate residents, businesses, and visitors about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) while highlighting the City's ongoing commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and equity.

The campaign focuses on raising awareness about what accessibility looks like in everyday life, celebrating progress made across City services and infrastructure, and encouraging respectful, inclusive behavior throughout the community. Outreach efforts will include social media, news releases, video public service announcements, and information shared through the City's website.

"I'm excited to support the ADA Access for All campaign because creating a place where everyone feels welcome truly matters to me," said Deputy Mayor Leslie McClendon, who also serves as the ADA Commission Chairperson. "Welcoming everyone isn't just the right thing to do-it's who we are. When barriers are removed, people are free to explore, connect, and fully experience our community, and that's the kind of destination I'm proud to be part of."

The campaign will spotlight a wide range of topics, including the basics of the ADA, respectful use of accessible parking, invisible disabilities, and how residents can report accessibility concerns. By sharing practical information alongside real-world examples, the City aims to foster greater understanding and shared responsibility across the community.
