Asm. Lori Wilson sends 9 bills to Governor's desk, secures over $159.3M for Assembly District 11

SACRAMENTO, CA - With the conclusion of the 2026 Legislative Session earlier this month, Assemblywoman Lori D. Wilson (D-Suisun City) is delighted to report she has sent nine of her bills to the Governor's desk and secured $159,386,000 in state funding for Assembly District 11.

AB 643, which amends a section of the Public Resources Code related to climate change, short-lived pollutants, and organic waste reduction, as well as provides more pathways for the productive reuse of organic material, was signed by the Governor on Sunday.

Her eight other bills that have been sent to the Governor include:

• AB 431, which would include Advanced Air Mobility in the next California Transportation Plan.

• AB 912, which would support the Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District's long-term infrastructure, financial, and service responsibilities by modernizing the current Board of Trustees composition.

• AB 1608, which would help the Office of the Inspector General of the High-Speed Rail Authority fill staff vacancies and have purchasing authority to overcome project obstacles in a timely manner.

• AB 1621, which would help address post-entitlement permitting delays and ongoing permit revisions which stall housing projects after they have already been approved for compliance.

• AB 1731, which would streamline the healthy food procurement process by helping local farmers overcome barriers to sell food to California institutions like schools and hospitals.

• AB 1798, which would ensure life insurance providers cannot discriminate against you based on your genetics.

• AB 2059, which would recognize rural areas are different under vehicle miles traveled (VMT) evaluations of transportation projects.

• AB 2346, which would enhance e-bike safety laws and provide additional tools to local governments.

The $159,386,000 in funding Assemblywoman Wilson advocated for will go toward the following within Assembly District 11:

• Highway 37 improvements.
  
• Restoring funding for 44 local Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) programs across California; this item affects the Child Advocates of Contra Costa County.
  
• The State Department of Social Services to provide allocations to the following organizations for diaper and wipe distribution to low income families with infants or toddlers; this item includes Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano among 11 other locations.
  
• The Bay Area Region's shipbuilding network, including efforts to strengthen innovation, improve coordination, and expand workforce development and curriculum.
  
• City of Benicia city services maintenance as the Valero Benicia Refinery is used for Fuel Import Operations.
  
• Community Benefit for Valero Fuel Importation within the City of Benicia.
  
• The Board of State and Community Corrections for the Solano Community Foundation to support the Broken by Violence program for community-based gun violence prevention strategies. Funds appropriated in this item are available for encumbrance or expenditure until June 30, 2028.
  
• Contra Costa County for the Green Empowerment Zone to support the region's concentration of highly skilled energy industry workers by prioritizing access to tax incentives, grants, loan programs, workforce training programs, and private-sector investment in the renewable energy sector.
  
• Reclamation District 800 for the management and remediation of harmful algal blooms in Discovery Bay.
  
• Contra Costa County for wildfire and evacuation modeling and planning tools.
  
• The Contra Costa Fire Protection District to support the Contra Costa Peer Support and Crisis Referral Program to provide mental health support services.
  
• Chromium 6 contaminants removal in the City of Dixon.
  
• Stock Pond Restoration within the East Bay Regional Park District.
  
• Contra Costa County to support the Casita Project, a farmworker housing pilot project by Hijas Del Campo.
