Vice Defense Minister Lee Doo-hee visited Hyesimwon, a children's welfare center in Huam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on October 2 ahead of the Chuseok holidays. During his visit, he delivered snacks and comfort items, expressing best wishes and support.

His visit to the children's welfare facility aimed to comfort needy children without families during the consecutive Chuseok holidays and to share love with the local community, the Defense Ministry explained.

Vice Minister Lee Doo-hee inspected facility operations and living conditions at Hyesimwon and delivered snacks and support items to help children enjoy happy holidays.

He said, "I appreciate the dedication of the staff here who do their best alongside the children even during the holidays. I hope these children grow up healthy and happy."

The Defense Ministry plans to continue its communication efforts to support neighbors in need, fostering a community where all people can share hope and warmth.

The Agency for Defense Development (ADD) announced on October 2 that it delivered support items and donations to neighbors in seven regions where ADD operates, which are Daejeon, Seoul, Changwon, Seosan, Pocheon, Samcheok, and Taean.

ADD staff have supported the needy during every traditional holiday by using voluntary donations they regularly collect. The ADD headquarters in Daejeon provided living necessities worth KRW 9 million to forty low-income households in Yuseong-gu. It also donated items valued at KRW 6 million to the 'House of Love,' a welfare facility for the elderly, and 'Cheonyangwon,' a children's welfare center.

The ADD Samcheok Maritime Research Center awarded scholarships to 30 youths in Samcheok, Gangwon State, and supported events in a nearby fishing village, helping to make the Chuseok holidays more joyful and meaningful. In Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, the ADD donated items worth KRW 9 million to welfare and childcare facilities, including the Changwon City Jinhae Community Social Welfare Center. The Anhung General Test Center in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, Haemi General Test Center in Seosan, Darakdae General Test Center in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and the General Test Center in Changwon also conducted donation activities to support low-income households.

ADD President Lee Geon-wan stated, "ADD is committed to fostering communication and growth alongside local communities while strengthening the nation's defense capabilities."
