Mono County to Conduct Emergency Alert System Test

MONO COUNTY, Calif. (September 22, 2025) - Mono County's Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will conduct an Emergency Alert System (EAS) test to ensure the system is working properly. The test will be an audible alert sent to all cell phones in the designated area. Residents who have signed up for Mono Alerts through Ready Mono will also receive the message via text, phone call, and/or email. The message will be delivered in either English or Spanish, based on the recipient's chosen preference.

WHAT: A test of the Mono County emergency alert system.

WHEN: Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

WHERE: The communities of the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Crowley Lake, Tom's Place, Paradise, Swall Meadows, Chalfant, and Benton.

The message will be clearly marked as a TEST ONLY. No action is required from residents upon receiving this alert. This test is a vital component of Mono County's ongoing commitment to enhance and refine its emergency notification capabilities.
