Spears Business announces 2026 Cumulus Award winners ahead of MSIS Cloud of Honor Celebration

Oklahoma State University's Department of Management Science and Information Systemsis honoring four recent alumni as Cumulus Award winners.

Holt Calder, Alex Evers, Katie O'Neil and Matt Tucker will receive their awards during the fifth annual Cloud of Honor Celebration on Feb. 27 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. The Cumulus Award goes to MSIS graduates making a significant impact early in their careers.

The ceremony will also feature the induction of four longtime alumni into the MSIS Cloud of Honor, established in 2022. The Spears School of Businesswill soon announce these honorees.

"We congratulate Holt, Alex, Katie and Matt as this year's Cumulus Award winners," said Dr. Rick Wilson, MSIS department head. "Their accomplishments in the early stages of their career have been most impressive. Our present students can use our Cumulus Award winners as exemplars in setting their own aspirations after graduation in business in general, and specifically in the information technology, cybersecurity and data science areas."

Holt Calder, '19

Holt Calder graduated from OSU in 2019 with bachelor's degrees in both management information systems (MIS) and accounting. He resides in Oklahoma City.

Upon graduation, Calder began his career with InterWorks as a data engineer/data architect, where he was responsible for delivering data infrastructure projects for clients (including the likes of Amazon) all over the world.

In 2021, Calder joined Greenhouse Software as a senior data engineer. Greenhouse is a New York-based industry leader in integrated recruiting software.

He now serves as director of data analytics for the organization and is responsible for shaping how analytics and AI inform the organization's product, marketing and financial strategies in the present "post-AI" hiring landscape.

Alex Evers, '13

Alex Evers serves as the executive director of workforce and economic development at Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater. He leads initiatives that strengthen talent pipelines, support business growth and build regional partnerships to drive economic vitality.

Evers earned his bachelor's degree in MIS with an option in information assurance from OSU in 2013. He previously served as Meridian's director of business and entrepreneurial services, where he coached startups and managed two state-certified business incubators.

As an entrepreneur, Evers brings real-world insight to his work, having owned and operated multiple small businesses across Oklahoma. His passion for innovation and experience in building businesses from the ground up inform his approach to workforce development and business support.

Katie O'Neil, '11

Katie O'Neil is an Edmond, Oklahoma, native and a 2011 graduate of OSU, where she earned a bachelor's degree in MIS.

She began her career in health care at a small Oklahoma City software company, ONCOCHART, where she spent six years in customer service and quality assurance roles. Those early experiences shaped her perspective on patient care and health care technology.

Today, O'Neil serves as director of data engineering & integrations at INTEGRIS Health, Oklahoma's largest health care system. In this role, she leads teams responsible for data platforms, interoperability and large-scale system integrations.

Her work focuses on reducing friction in complex systems so caregivers can spend less time navigating technology and more time delivering patient care.

Matt Tucker, '13

Matt Tucker graduated from OSU in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in MIS with an option in information assurance. He serves as VP - cyber identity management engineer III at BOK Financial, where he leads solution development for securing all aspects of human and machine identities, managing risk, especially around AI and fraud.

Tucker previously worked at Williams and ONEOK across portions of the U.S. in different specialties. These ranged from cybersecurity operations in Tulsa, to helping deliver communications to remote plant sites in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, to IT project management covering an array of operations in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.

Tucker's forte is working on problem-solving that requires bringing a diverse set of people and skills together.
