Warren Statement on Bipartisan Reauthorization of Defense Production Act to Protect Our National Security, Supply Chain Resilience, and Ability to Respond to Emergencies

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the National Defense Authorization Act's inclusion of the bipartisan reauthorization of the Defense Production Act she introduced with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC):

"The Defense Production Act is an important tool to reshore critical supply chains, respond to emergencies, and make our economy more resilient. This bipartisan reauthorization is a strong step forward, and I'll keep fighting to use these tools responsibly to support workers, protect our economic and national security, and ensure that big corporations can't take advantage of crises to jack up prices."
