UAA sending seven to NCAA Skiing National Championships

Indianapolis - The NCAA announced that seven skiers from the University of Alaska Anchorage have qualified for the 2026 NCAA Skiing National Championships in Park City, Utah March 11-14.

"In a year where we competed in such a high-level field of current Olympians and World Cup athletes, I'm proud to bring seven of the best NCAA collegiate skiers to championships," said head coach Sparky Anderson. "Every single one of these kids is capable of a podium finish. Watching this team battle together all season, through all of our ups and downs, each one of them wants to bring their absolute best for their teammates. We're a smaller group this year, but the spirit of our entire team is behind us. It'll be an exciting week."

Senior Ella Bromee will be making her fourth trip to the NCAA National Championships. The native of Ostanskar, Sweden has earned three All-American honors, twice finishing fourth in the slalom. She earned All-RMISA second team honors after finishing in the top-10 four times and three times in the top-five.

Senior Ainsley Proffit will be making her fourth appearance at the NCAA National Championships. The St. Charles, Missouri native earned All-American honors with a career-best finish of eighth in the giant slalom at the 2024 NCAA National Championships.

Sophomore Erling Bjornstad will be making his first appearance at the NCAA National Championships. The native of Alta, Norway earned All-RMISA Second Team honors after winning the 7.5-kilometer classic race at the RMISA Championships and finishing third in the classic sprint at the RMISA Invite.

Junior Corbin Carpenter will be making his second trip to the NCAA National Championships. The native of Carbondale, Colo., earned All-American honors in 2025 with a 10th-place finish in the 7.5-kilometer classic race. He earned All-RMISA Second Team honors after finishing third in the 10-kilometer classic race at the RMISA Invite, third in the 15-kilometer classic race at the Utah Invite and third in the 10-kilometer classic race at the Denver Invite.

Sophomore Marit Flora will be making her second appearance at the NCAA National Championships. The Anchorage, native posted five top-10 finishes this season, including a season-best fifth in the 7.5-kilometer freestyle at the Denver Invite.

Junior Marlie Molinaro will be making her second trip to the NCAA National Championships. The native of Whistler, British Columbia finished in the top-10 in three of her four races this season including a season-best of fifth in the classic sprints at the RMISA Invite.

Sophomore Dashe McCabe will be making her first appearance at the NCAA National Championships. The native of Winthrop, Wash., had a pair of top-10 finishes this season placing seventh in the 7.5-kilometer classic race at the Colorado Invite and 10th in the 10-kilometer classic at the Denver Invite.
