Texarkana intersection to become four-way stop

The intersection of Farm to Market road (FM) 2878 / Pleasant Grove Road and Gibson Lane in Texarkana will become a four-way stop beginning the evening of Monday, July 27. Previously, only traffic on Gibson Lane had to stop.

Work to implement this change is scheduled to take place after 8 p.m. Drivers in the area are asked to use extreme caution when crews are present and as everyone adjusts to the new traffic pattern.

Stop signs, pavement markings and warning signs will be placed on FM 2878 / Pleasant Grove Road. Stop signs have also been doubled on FM 2878 / Pleasant Grove Road. Stop ahead signs will be in place in each direction. Portable message boards are currently in place to warn motorists ahead of this scheduled closure. The construction schedule and road closure can change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen issues.
