European path, bilateral cooperation, and regional security at the center of Minister Mihai Popșoi’s discussions with European partners

16 December 2025, The Hague - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, held meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, and of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, David van Weel, on the margins of the Diplomatic Conference on the adoption of the Convention establishing the International Claims Commission for Ukraine.

During the discussions with Andrii Sybiha, the regional security situation was addressed, and prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation in energy and defense, as well as political dialogue within regional formats, were analyzed.

The two ministers also discussed advancing the European path of both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, highlighting the significant progress reflected in the most recent European Union Enlargement Report.

Deepening bilateral cooperation and the Netherlands ongoing support for the Republic of Moldova's European path were the main topics in talks with Minister David van Weel. The discussions also covered cooperation in the fields of security and defense, as well as the contribution of Dutch assistance to strengthening the resilience of Moldovan authorities, particularly in cybersecurity and combating disinformation.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi exchanged views with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, and with the Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys.
