The University Provost is very pleased to announce the appointment of Will Pewitt as dean of the Hicks Honors College (HHC). Following a national search, Pewitt will begin his new role on Monday, July 6.
For the past year, Pewitt served in a dual capacity as HHC assistant director and special assistant to the dean. He began working at UNF in 2010 and has served as faculty in the UNF English department and as a HHC administrator, faculty, faculty fellow, senior fellow and Honors Council member. His work with HHC leadership and partners helped to drive transformational enrollment growth while building scalable operational infrastructure serving UNF's more than 1,100 active honors students. Pewitt has earned multiple teaching awards, published and presented work in a range of fields including The Oxford Anthology of Translation, North American Review, British Shakespeare Association, and The Literary Review.
Pewitt is a well-respected higher education administrator with progressive leadership experience in honors education; combining his strong institutional knowledge with data-informed innovation will greatly benefit the HHC's strategic growth and advancement.
