BMI & Berklee Team Up for Know Them Now x Ones to Watch

BMI was excited to collaborate with Berklee, last week, at the BMI Know Them Now x Berklee Ones to Watch showcase. Held at the Vinyl at Center Stage Atlanta and spearheaded by Latoya Lee, Director of Industry Relations at Berklee College of Music and award-winning songwriter and Berklee professor, Keli Nicole Price, this event highlighted five gifted Berklee students who are starting to navigate the music industry and looking to move to Atlanta after graduating. Performers included ZURI, Christian Inman, Luvwander, Marianthi Olympia and Alexa Givens, with Berklee alumnus Bratattack spinning tunes between sets. The showcase was attended by several members of Atlanta's music industry community, including Polow da Don, Pastor Troy, DJ Greg Street, PopLord, Phillana Williams, BabyChiefDoit, StreetRunner and Kawan "KP" Prather, among others.

After making a speech to welcome attendees and acknowledge the participating students, Polow da Don was surprised with the presentation of the BMI's Legends of ATL Award. The award-winning rapper/songwriter/producer was given this honor in recognition of both his contributions to Atlanta's music scene and his impact across the globe. Past recipients of the Legends of ATL Award include Pastor Troy, Big Oomp, Dallas Austin, Big Boi, Organized Noize, Lil Jon, and DJ Toomp, among others.
