ABYC Opens Nomination for Outstanding Technician Awards

The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) is accepting nominations for its 2026 Outstanding Technician Awards, part of International Marine Service Technician Week, April 20-24. The week recognizes marine technicians and their role in keeping boats safe, reliable and ready for the water.

Now in its fifth year, the Outstanding Technician Awards honor service professionals who excel in customer service, technical training and industry involvement. ABYC will recognize 10 technicians with a $100 Visa gift card, a technician prize pack and features on ABYC social media.

The "New Achiever" category recognizes newcomers to the industry with one to five years of experience who demonstrate skill, commitment and potential.

"So many marine technicians go above and beyond, and a nomination for this award is a great way to show you see and appreciate that excellence," said Jaclyn Vincenti, ABYC marketing coordinator and staff lead for Marine Service Technician Week. "Whether you're a supervisor, peer or customer, taking a moment to recognize your favorite technician is a powerful way to thank them for the work they do to keep us safe on the water."

Nominations are open now and will be accepted through March 23 at https://www.abycinc.org/outstandingtechs2026.

ABYC also invites the industry to participate in social media activities throughout the week. The daily themes include:

  • Monday, April 20 - Master Technicians
