SPRINGFIELD - Visit the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site and Ewing Manor in Bloomington to celebrate the 20th year of Christmas at the Mansions tours on Saturday, Dec. 13. This year's event will be enhanced by the addition of a tour of the Broadview Mansion in Normal.
In addition to displaying Gilded Age Christmas decorations, which have become community favorites, the
David Davis Mansion will also feature expanded exhibits and three new must-see decorative elements on the second floor.
The theme for this year's decorations at the
Ewing Manor is "Passions and Fortunes." Each room represents a business or special interest of the Ewing and Buck families. Featured businesses will include the Zeno Gum Factory, Wrigley Chewing Gum, the Manufactured Ice Co. and the Davis Ewing Concrete Co.
"The Bells Are Ringing" is the title of
Broadview Mansion's Christmas tour this year. Visitors will step into the musical legacy of the Van Leer family, who filled their home and community with the joy of song. Throughout the tours, guests will enjoy the sounds of Christmas carols chiming from the mansion's recently restored bell tower
Tours will be from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Tickets are $15 per person in advance and may be purchased at the Casey's Garden Shop, AB Hatchery, Hy-Vee or
