Grab your lawn chairs and prepare for a journey through time as Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park celebrates its 50th anniversary during the annual Rockin' Block Party. On Saturday, June 6, history rocks the night during this free community celebration merging local heritage with high-energy entertainment from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The golden anniversary bash kicks off with the smooth, iconic sounds of the 1970s. A premier Eagles cover band, The Long Run, will take the stage at 6 p.m., performing hits like "Hotel California" and "Take It Easy" to honor the decade the museum was founded. Between sets, attendees can explore the site's historic buildings, highlighting five decades of preservation. Families can enjoy hands-on activities for kids, while a T-Rex mascot roams the grounds for photo opportunities.
"As we mark 50 years of sharing Lakewood's story, we wanted to ensure this annual tradition feels like a giant anniversary party for the whole community," said Heritage Lakewood Administrator Betsy Bowers. "Whether you are here for the vintage vibes, the live music or the movie under the stars, there is truly something for every generation."
As the sun sets, the Foothills Credit Union beer garden will offer local craft brews for those age 21 and older, providing the perfect vantage point for the evening's cinematic finale. At 9 p.m., the stage shifts into an outdoor theater for a special screening of the family-favorite film "A Night at the Museum."

Marking 2026 Milestones
A City Council proclamation for May 11 marks the 50th anniversary of the Heritage Lakewood museum, alongside America's 250th and Colorado's 150th commemorations. Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park is a 20th-century history park, museum and festival grounds where the community is invited to recognize these milestones during events and programs throughout the year. New interpretive signage at each historic building allows visitors extended access to learn about the site. Events begin June 6 with the Rockin' Block Party, followed by Wednesday night concerts in June and July, Belmar Bash on July 3, the museum's birthday on Aug. 1, Cider Days Oct. 3-4, and Lakewood Lights on Dec. 3. It's a yearlong opportunity to reflect on our shared history and enjoy all Heritage Lakewood has to offer.
