Sen. Boozman accepts the Former Members of Congress Association's 2026 Statesmanship Award.
WASHINGTON-The Former Members of Congress Association (FMC) presented U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) with the 2026 Statesmanship Award for his demonstrated commitment to solutions-based governing, civil discourse and prioritizing the needs of constituents. Boozman accepted the honor during a ceremony at the Library of Congress and sat on a panel with fellow recipients to discuss bipartisan policy achievements and the life experiences that inform their approach to lawmaking.
"It is an honor to be recognized by former colleagues and friends for the work my office has consistently done to support veterans, our rural communities, national interests and beyond," said Boozman. "Bipartisanship is a hallmark of the Senate and leads to policies that can stand the test of time, which is why I make it a point to seek common ground and craft solutions with significant input from both sides of the aisle. I deeply appreciate having that approach celebrated by FMC and joining the list of incredible legislators it has acknowledged over many years."
"FMC was honored to recognize Senator Boozman alongside Senator Warnock as our 2026 Senate Statesmanship Award Honorees," said FMC CEO Pete Weichlein. "From his exceptional work on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, to his dedication to our country's veterans, to his service as Co-Chair on our Congressional Study Group on Europe, Senator Boozman has demonstrated a consistent ability to reach across the aisle and find common sense solutions throughout his decades in public office. We applaud his devotion to the people of Arkansas and America, and look forward to seeing his continued leadership in the Senate for years to come."
The FMC is composed of former Members of Congress dedicated to creating opportunities for bipartisanship. The organization's 2026 Honorees included Senators Boozman and Raphael Warnock (D-GA), as well as Congressmen Bill Huizenga (MI-02) and Gregory Meeks (NY-05). FMC is dedicated to promoting bipartisanship and representative democracy, supporting Congress as an institution, and fostering public service. The Statesmanship Awards ceremony supports work to advance its mission including programs such as Congress to Campus; legislative exchanges abroad through Congressional Study Groups on Europe, Germany, Japan and Korea; and events to bring Chiefs of Staff and District Directors from both parties together to work across the aisle, identify common goals, and share best practices -- all on a bipartisan basis and at no cost to the taxpayer.
