ICANN Public Data Webpage Update

Today, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is reminding users that after 31 August 2026, the Open Data Platform (ODP) will no longer be available.

In June 2026, ICANN announced that it had streamlined access to the data available on ODP by migrating the datasets to the ICANN website. The ICANN Open Data Initiative webpage allows anyone to view and download the available data without needing to log in. Data is available as CSV files, a widely supported format that does not require the use of an API.

Users who currently rely on the ODP must begin using the new webpage and update their processes before 31 August. Beginning on 1 September, the Open Data Platform and its API will no longer be available, and the current URL will redirect to the Open Data Initiative page.

This transition is part of ICANN's effort to simplify access to public data while reducing the organization's maintenance, data storage, and backup requirements.

Questions about the transition or ICANN's publicly available data should be sent to [email protected].

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address - a name or a number - into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
