UNION CITY, CA - June 29, 2025 - Union City is continuing its commitment to sustainability by launching a comprehensive update to its 2010 Climate Action Plan (CAP), a strategic roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase community resilience to climate change.
As part of this effort, the Union City Council recently established a new Climate Action Plan Task Force, an advisory body to help shape the updated plan by providing community-based input and guidance throughout the development of the updated CAP.
The seven-member Task Force will include two representatives from the City Council, one member from the Planning Commission, one member from the Human Relations Commission, one member from the Parks & Recreation Commission, and two members from the community. Task Force members are expected to serve for approximately two years, or until the new CAP is formally adopted.
