Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Thailand

On 5 June 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had discussions with H.E. Mrs. Lucy Njeri Kiruthu, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Thailand, on the occasion of the Ambassador's assumption of duty.

The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to advancing engagement with Kenya, including through the Thailand - Africa Initiative (TAI), in particular with high-level consultations, trade and investment, and development partnership in the spirit of South - South cooperation.

Both sides discussed potential areas of collaboration in food security, hospitality, connectivity, and combatting transnational crimes, particularly online scams. They also agreed to work closely in preparation for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Kenya in 2027, with a view to further strengthening the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
