Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Reckless Evading: On 11/16/2025 at 12:05AM, officers located a stolen vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Cabot and Winton. HPD attempted to pull-over the vehicle, however, it fled at a high rate of speed eastbound on Winton Avenue. The vehicle was (again) located on Clawiter Rd where Stop Sticks were successfully deployed, disabling the vehicle near Winton Ave. Five subjects were detained: the adult driver (Hayward resident) was arrested, an adult passenger and three juvenile passengers were released. Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm: On 11/16/2025 at 4:38PM, officers conducted a traffic stop near the 400 block of W A St. One of the officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view and detained the driver (Hayward resident). A search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded handgun was located. The driver was arrested without incident. Case 2025-66289
Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury: On 11/18/2025 at 6:59PM, officers responded to the 100 block of W. Tennyson Rd for a male bleeding from his head. The victim had been assaulted by two males after he made vulgar comments about a subject's wife. Subject 1 struck the victim with a wooden stick on the head multiple times; and subject 2 kicked the victim in the head. HPD located the subjects (both Hayward unhoused males) and arrested them. Grand Theft from a Person: On 11/19/2025 at 5:10PM, an elderly couple were walking near 29200 Huntwood Ave when a black SUV pulled up next to them, exited the vehicle, and engaged them in conversation. During the interaction, the female subject gave the elderly female twenty dollars and then hugged her. Unbeknownst to the elderly female, the subject removed her necklace during the hug. Both subjects fled the area in their vehicle. Case 2025-66905
