Happy Opening Day, Michigan!
Whether you are a hunter or not, in the Northwoods, November 15
th really is the unofficial start to the holiday season.
As we step forward from one of the most consequential and contentious elections cycles in our Nation's history, I hope each of you take the time to focus on what really matters in life.
Hunting is one of those things that draws people together, allows us all to leave the noise of our daily lives behind for a short period of time, enjoy God's beautiful creation, and appreciate the bounties of our success.
As you venture into the woods from deer camp and enjoy time with family and friends, I encourage you to share your traditions with the next generation, focus on the things that matter most, and enjoy the Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula way of life.
Although I'm in Washington doing the work you sent me to do today, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend in the woods and wish all hunters - our state's most important conservationists - the best of luck.
