Husted visits United Grinding in Miamisburg.
MIAMISBURG, OH-Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) met with United Grinding (UG) North America leadership and partners in Miamisburg, Ohio, to receive an overview and update on the growth of the company. He also took part in a tour of the production floor, met with members of the UG workforce and learned more about the company's premier apprenticeship program in partnership with Sinclair College.
UG is a Swiss-based company and leading supplier of high-precision grinding machines, tool grinding machines and additive manufacturing solutions for other manufacturers of precise metal components, including GE Aerospace. UG chose Miamisburg, Ohio, to be the home of its North American headquarters.
"Ohioans continue to lead the way in a generational surge of American skilled workers and manufacturing growth. I was grateful to visit UG, learn about the outstanding manufacturing opportunities for Ohioans and see firsthand UG North America's world-class Apprenticeship Program, in partnership with Sinclair, to train the next generation of American workers. You can't do Made in America without Made in Ohio-and these hardworking Ohioans are a testament to that," said Husted.
In the Senate, Husted is working to expand access to affordable training and education programs for Americans entering the workforce:
Husted has also been a leading advocate for Ohio job creators by visiting 10 manufacturing facilities and 10 career tech schools this year alone.
