The Greensboro Fire Department will host its annual Fire Citizens' Academy (FCA), with sessions held at multiple fire stations throughout Greensboro.
This eight-week program will take place each week from 6-8:30 pm, beginning Thursday, July 23, and concluding on Thursday, September 10. The FCA is designed to give community members a behind-the-scenes look at the operations, training, and daily responsibilities of one of the nation's leading fire departments.
Participants will also receive free CPR and First Aid certification as part of the program.
Only 20 participants will be selected. The application period opens Friday, May 1. For more information and to apply, visit the Greensboro Fire Department website or access the application at: Greensboro Fire Citizens Academy.
"The Fire Citizens' Academy is an incredible opportunity for our community to connect with their local fire department," said Fire Chief Jim Robinson. "We are excited to work one-on-one with our residents and provide a deeper understanding of the service we deliver every day to protect our community."
