(7/13/26) Contractors for the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will be performing intermittent night work this week on NE Halsey Street between NE Jonesmore St. and NE 92nd Ave.

There will be no impacts to vehicle travel patterns or driveway access.

The work will involve painting the green and white bike lane markings in the two-way bicycle lanes on the south side of NE Halsey. At times, crews will need to use a blow torch to adhere the paint, which can create some noise. Work will not continue throughout the entire night.

Night work is necessary because daytime heat can warm the asphalt to a point where the paint cannot properly adhere.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is constructing the new two-way protected bike facility on NE Halsey to provide a continuous, comfortable connection from NE 81st to NE 92nd. This upgrade links directly into existing bike infrastructure and strengthens access to the NE 82nd Ave. MAX station, Gateway-area businesses, and nearby residential neighborhoods.

We understand night work is disruptive, and we truly appreciate your patience as we complete this necessary improvement.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
