Rep. Bill Yearta Appointed Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government

ATLANTA - House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) recently appointed State Representative Bill Yearta (R-Sylvester) to serve as chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.

"I'm honored to be appointed by Speaker Burns to serve as chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government," said Rep. Yearta. "Crafting and passing a balanced budget each year is our most important constitutional responsibility, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely and responsibly to support the essential functions of our state's government."

Representative Bill Yearta represents the citizens of District 152, which includes Lee and Worth counties, as well as a portion of Dougherty County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 and currently serves as Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government. He also serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Banks & Banking, Economic Development & Tourism, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications and Small Business Development committees.
