Free Parking Offered at Highland Street, McGrath Lots During Storm

WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester is offering free parking at its 40 Highland St. lot and 40 Salem St. (McGrath) library lot for the duration of the upcoming storm. The free parking is intended to provide an option for people who live in areas prone to flooding to park their vehicles during the storm event if they do not have a more convenient option nearby.

Vehicles can enter the lots free of charge starting Friday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. Rates will resume Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6 a.m. Vehicles who park during this period will have until Tuesday at 12 p.m. (noon) to exit the lots free of charge.

The free parking applies to the Highland and McGrath lots only. All other municipal garages and lots will charge normal rates.

Internet and power outages are possible. Please report any downed power lines to 911. Downed branches that do not present a risk to people's safety can be called into City of Worcester 311 or 911 when 311 is not available.
