SAE International Publishes Updated Aerospace Standards to Strengthen Supply Chain Quality chevron right

AS9107 and AS9117A Support Critical Quality and Verification Processes
Across the Aerospace Supply Chain

WARRENDALE, Pa. (June 12, 2026) - SAE International®, a global leader in advancing mobility standards and knowledge solutions, has published two updated aerospace standards designed to strengthen quality assurance, improve supply chain consistency, and support airworthiness compliance across the aviation, space, and defense industries.

SAE AS9107, Direct Delivery Authorization Guidance for Aerospace Companies, supersedes SAE ARP9107A and provides updated guidance for organizations participating in Direct Delivery Authorization (DDA) arrangements.

Direct Delivery Authorization enables a Production Organization (PO) to deliver products directly to a customer under an Appropriate Arrangement (AA) established with a Design Organization (DO). The standard provides guidance for Production Organizations and Design Organizations on implementing DDA requirements and maintaining compliance with applicable industry and regulatory expectations.

SAE International has also published SAE AS9117A, Delegated Product Release Verification (DPRV), which supersedes SAE AS9117.

Delegated Product Release Verification allows organizations to authorize suppliers to perform product acceptance activities on their behalf. AS9117A establishes a common framework for DPRV implementation, helping reduce risk and improve consistency across the aviation, space, and defense supply chain.

The standard applies when an organization elects to delegate product release verification to a supplier in accordance with AS9100 and AS9110 quality management system requirements and serves as a baseline for establishing DPRV programs across the supply chain.

Together, these standards demonstrate SAE International's ongoing commitment to advancing and maintaining aerospace quality standards and supporting the industry's evolving needs through globally recognized standards and guidance.
