GC High Achievers Program celebrates Lights On Afterschool
Continuing & Professional Education Thursday October 23, 2025
The GC High Achievers Program celebrated the Afterschool Alliance's 2025 Lights On Afterschool celebration. The premise of the celebration was to bring awareness about the need for quality afterschool programs.
The Georgia College & State University Academic Outreach Team facilitated the activities at GCSU's East Campus (Lake Laurel). The group experienced physical and mental health from walking the nature trail and STEAM activities by skimming the water and capturing dragonfly larvae, leeches, minnows, spiders, mayflies, snails, insect egg sacks and water mites. All were examined under a microscope.
