Chad Jones named next Peoria County Supervisor of Assessments

The Peoria County Board is appointing Chad Jones as the next Supervisor of Assessments, effective May 20. He succeeds Dave Ryan, who is retiring.

Jones is a life-long Peorian. He began serving with Peoria County in 2019 as a member of the Board of Review. Since 2023, Jones has worked for the County as the Chief Deputy in the Supervisor of Assessments Office. Jones has also worked in real estate since 1995.

The Supervisor of Assessments Office coordinates the property tax assessment activities for Peoria County. The Office oversees the local township assessors who have the primary responsibility for valuing properties for assessment purposes. The Office also supports the Board of Review's assessment appeals process.

Jones is a graduate of Peoria High School and holds a business degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Jones' appointment runs through April 30, 2029.
