FREDERICTON (GNB) - New Brunswick's public libraries are entering a new chapter through a provincewide rebranding, meant to illustrate their evolving role as inclusive, innovative and vibrant community hubs.
"The new brand better reflects the full scope of what libraries offer," said Post-Secondary Education and Training Minister Jean-Claude D'Amours. "From literacy to technology access, from workshops to community-building, public libraries are free, welcoming spaces for everyone in New Brunswick, and we wanted to show that with this new look."
The refreshed identity highlights four themes - read, learn, play and create - showcasing the many ways libraries enrich communities. These themes are woven into the new brand design and will be represented in programs, activities and outreach across the province.
At the heart of the new logo is a chickadee, the provincial bird, symbolizing curiosity, friendliness and local pride. Paired with the four themes, the chickadee is meant to give libraries a modern, unified identity that embodies their spirit and purpose.
"We are so excited for this new era for New Brunswick public libraries," said Ella Nason, executive director of the New Brunswick Public Library Service. "The refreshed brand comes to life through consistent, modern designs that highlight read, learn, play and create, and showcase the many ways libraries serve their communities."
New Brunswickers are invited to watch for new library cards that feature the chickadee logo. More information is available online.
