Adil Daudi Appointed General Counsel for the University of Maryland Medical System

The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has appointed Adil Daudi as Senior Vice President and General Counsel following a national search. Daudi has served as the System's Interim General Counsel since July 2025.

Daudi has been a member of the UMMS legal team since 2014, when he joined the organization to focus on transactional and regulatory matters. Over the years, his responsibilities expanded significantly, culminating in enterprise-wide legal leadership supporting some of the System's most important strategic and operational initiatives.

As Interim General Counsel, Daudi provided legal counsel to executive leadership and the UMMS Board of Directors, helping guide the organization through complex legal, regulatory and governance matters. Known for his thoughtful leadership, sound judgment and calm demeanor, he has become a trusted advisor to leaders throughout the System.

Daudi brings more than 20 years of healthcare legal experience to the position. Before joining UMMS, he served as Associate General Counsel for the University of Michigan Health System and practiced in the FDA and Healthcare Practice Group at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C. Throughout his career, he has advised healthcare organizations on corporate governance, hospital-physician transactions, fraud and abuse compliance, HIPAA, nonprofit and tax-exempt matters and complex healthcare affiliations. He earned a Doctor of Law degree from the Indiana University School of Law, where he concentrated in health law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan.

Daudi succeeds Aaron Rabinowitz, who served as General Counsel before being appointed President of University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health in July 2025.
