Wilderness Park Areas Now Temporarily Closed for Improvements

The Parks and Recreation Department today announced that several areas in Wilderness Park near the Epworth Arches, South First and W. Calvert streets, are now closed for improvements. The areas are expected to reopen the week of May 5.

Closures include the Epworth Arches, P2 parking lot, trailhead, and trail between markers 10 and 13. Work includes construction of a new seating area and walking loop adjacent to the arches, addition of two accessible picnic areas and two ADA parking stalls, and repairs to the parking lot.

This project is funded by the generous support of donors through the Lincoln Parks Foundation's It's Your Wilderness campaign.
