New Student Financing Resource for Public Health Students

New Student Financing Resource for Public Health Students

August 19, 2026

ASPPH is pleased to share a new student financing resource that is designed to help students navigate an increasingly complex financing environment. Liaison has partnered with Juno to provide health professions students, including public health students, with access to additional private loan options at a time when changes to federal student lending are creating significant uncertainty.

Juno works by bringing student borrowers together and negotiating directly with multiple lenders to create a more competitive marketplace. Through the partnership, students may have access to multiple lenders, discounted rates, rate matching, cash-back incentives, multi-year loan eligibility, and, in some cases, financing without a co-signer or established income. Information about these options will be available through Explore Health Careers, providing students with an accessible resource as they consider financing their education.

While ASPPH welcomes this additional resource, private financing is not a substitute for strong and accessible federal student aid. The RISE rule, coupled with the elimination of Grad PLUS loans, would significantly restrict federal borrowing options for graduate public health students and could create new barriers to pursuing public health education.

ASPPH therefore remains deeply concerned about the rule's impact on students and the future public health workforce. We will continue our legal and advocacy efforts to block its implementation while working with partners to identify resources that help students access and finance their education.
