Rep. Nancy Mace Joins President Trump To Crack Down On Illegal Immigration And Speed Up Deportations

(Washington, D.C., July 9th, 2025)-Congresswoman Nancy Mace is taking a hard stand against illegal immigration with the introduction of the Expedited Removal Expansion Act of 2025. Joining President Trump's effort to restore law and order and secure our border, this bill gives federal immigration officers the authority and tools they need to bypass bureaucratic delays and remove illegal aliens from the U.S. on the spot.

Under current law, expedited removal is limited to arriving aliens without valid entry documents or who sought admission through fraud, and illegal aliens who are present in the country, except Cuban and Venezuelans, who have been here for less than two years. These restrictions have allowed countless violent and dangerous illegal aliens to remain in our country without consequence. This bill puts an end to this.

"President Trump called it like it is: crossing our border illegally isn't a harmless mistake, it's a criminal act, and it's time we start treating it like one." said Congresswoman Mace. "Congress needs to grow a spine and help him clean house. This bill speeds up the process in kicking illegal aliens out and putting American citizens first."

The Expedited Removal Expansion Act gives President Trump exactly what he needs to take his America First immigration agenda to the next level. It expands expedited removal authority to cover any alien who is inadmissible for any reason, and any illegal alien already inside our borders, no matter how long they've been here or where they came from. If they're here illegally, they're gone.

"It has become clear that the same courts that failed to stop the Biden Administration's unlawful border policies are happy to obstruct the necessary removal of those who have no legal right to be here. Congress, however, holds plenary power over immigration," said Grant Newman, Director of Government Relations, Immigration Accountability Project. "The Expedited Removal Expansion Act is a critical piece of legislation that would empower the Trump Administration to act decisively. By broadening the application of expedited removal, this bill will provide an essential tool to efficiently address the consequences of the Biden Border Crisis and restore integrity to our immigration system. We are thankful to Congresswoman Mace for introducing this vital measure."

"For far too long, law-abiding citizens were left alone to face the consequences of the Biden administration's border crisis, from spiking tax burdens to illegal alien crime," said Joe Chatham, Director of Government Affairs, Federation for American Immigration Reform. "The Expedited Removal Expansion Act takes critical steps toward addressing that crisis by making commonsense changes to support the efforts of our federal immigration authorities. FAIR is proud to support this vital bill and applauds Congresswoman Mace for taking action to support American communities."

Key Highlights of the Bill:

  • Authorizes expedited removal of any illegal alien who has not been lawfully admitted or paroled.
  • Expands expedited removal to all categories of inadmissibility under U.S. immigration law, not just fraud or lack of proper entry documents.
  • Removes the two-year physical presence loophole, which has allowed long-term illegal residents to evade expedited removal.
  • Removes a loophole that allows Cubans and Venezuelans to evade expedited removal.
