Defendant Convicted of Shooting Murder at Natomas Truck Stop

On May 1, 2026, Quentin Respers was convicted by a jury of the second-degree murder of Abrina Abraham and felon in possession of a firearm. The jury also found true a use of firearm allegation.

Quentin Respers and the victim had a prior romantic relationship. On June 24, 2022, the victim met Respers at the 49ner truck stop in Natomas to discuss their relationship. After a verbal exchange, Respers pulled a gun from his waistband and fired two shots at the victim, killing her. Respers fled and was later apprehended by sheriff's deputies. The shooting was captured on surveillance. The gun was never located.

Respers faces a maximum sentence of 43 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for June 26, 2026, at 1:30 PM in Department PB before the Honorable Shelleyanne W.L. Chang.
