Families USA Submits Comments on Senate Finance Committee RFI for Commonsense Policy Options to Lower Drug Prices for Patients

Families USA submitted comments to Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden and Senate Democrats in response to their Request for Information: Commonsense Policy Options to Lower Drug Prices for Patients, offering recommendations on five key drug pricing priorities under consideration by lawmakers:

  • Strengthening the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program
  • Expanding the number of drugs eligible for negotiation
  • Boosting the biosimilar market
  • Extending inflationary rebates to the commercial market
  • Increasing transparency and accountability for high launch prices

As more than 40% of adults report that they've skipped doses, rationed medications, or gone without filling a prescription altogether because of cost, Families USA will continue working with the Senate Finance Committee to advance these reforms.
