TRAFFIC ALERT: Lawrence Co. Route K Bridge Over Honey Creek CLOSED Aug. 4-7 & 11-14

Where: Lawrence County Route K bridge over Honey Creek between County Road 2155 and County Road 2165 north of Aurora

When: 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday, August 4-7 and August 11-14

What: MoDOT crews working on bridge deck/driving surface

Traffic Impacts:

• All Route K lanes CLOSED at the bridge over Honey Creek
• All lanes OPEN to traffic during nighttime hours and weekends
• Drivers will have access to entrances at either end of the work zone, but will not be able to travel across the bridge
• No signed detour
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers should find alternate route
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is in advance of a future project to replace the Route K bridge. This bridge was built in 1939 and has approximately 2,000 vehicles per day traveling across it.
