a. The Court has appointed Vanessa Kittell, Esq., to fill the vacancy on the Committee
4. Ongoing Matters
a. Amendments to V.R.E. 106, Rule of Completeness
i. The Court promulgated the amendments to Rule 106 on October 29, 2025. They became effective on January 1, 2026.
ii. Judge Corbett discussed the amendment in his testimony before the Legislative Committee on Judicial Rules (LCJR) on December 12, 2025.
b. Amendments to V.R.E. 615, Exclusion of Witnesses
i. The Court published the proposed amendments to Rule 615 for public comment. The comment period closed on December 29, 2025, with no comments received.
ii. Judge Corbett testified about the proposed amendment before the LCJR on December 12, 2025.
iii. Vote on whether to submit amendments to V.R.E. 615 to the Court for promulgation.
c. Artificial Intelligence & Potential Related Amendments
i. Review of Vermont Judiciary Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts Subcommittee on Rules report (Attorney Miller)
ii. Tentative: Review of VBA input (Judge Marsh)
iii. Review of proposed F.R.E. 707 and draft F.R.E. 901(c) governing machine-generate evidence and deepfakes (Reporter)
5. New Matters
a. Review of other recent amendments made or proposed to the F.R.E. (Reporter)
