The Sultanate of Oman is hosting an IMF mission...

Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission for this year began today, in accordance with the requirements of Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement. The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance, is hosting the mission, which will continue until November 24, 2025. This visit follows a preparatory visit by the mission from May 21 to 29, 2025.

During this visit, the mission will meet with officials from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the Ministry of Labour, the Tax Authority, the Investment Authority, and several other government entities, as well as representatives from the private and banking sectors, civil society organizations, and academic institutions. Through these meetings, the IMF will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the economic and financial situation in the Sultanate of Oman. During the technical meetings, the IMF team will discuss a number of topics with officials and experts related to the latest macroeconomic developments and future prospects, as well as several issues concerning fiscal and monetary policies, financial sector development, structural reforms, and efforts to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The main discussions will focus on economic diversification, job creation, supporting private sector growth, and enhancing sustainability and resilience in the face of global developments.

Based on the findings of its visit, the IMF delegation will issue a press release summarizing the visit and its key outcomes. It will also submit a detailed report on the Sultanate of Oman's economic and financial situation to the IMF Executive Board.​
