Lincoln University of Missouri Accepting Applications for AAS Nursing Program Through April 1

Applications for Lincoln University's Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program's fall cohort are now open.

Lincoln University of Missouri's School of Nursing is reminding prospective students that the application deadline for the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program's fall cohort is April 1.

The part-time, evening program is offered through the university's Fort Leonard Wood campus and is designed to meet the needs of civilians, active-duty military personnel and their dependents. Students admitted through the April 1 deadline begin classes in August.

The AAS in Nursing curriculum includes seven sequential nursing courses, combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences at hospitals, nursing homes and clinics in the Rolla, Lebanon and Waynesville areas. Students typically spend four to six hours per week in evening classroom instruction and 12 hours per week in clinical or laboratory settings.

Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses. In 2023, the program's NCLEX pass rate was 100%, compared to a national average of 87.6%. Job placement rates have reached 100% in multiple recent years.

Applicants must submit a completed School of Nursing paper application, three letters of reference and a score of 70 or higher on the HESI A2 exam. A minimum ACT composite score of 19 taken within the past five years may be substituted for the HESI A2 requirement. Completion of General Biology with lab and prerequisite nursing courses with a minimum 2.75 GPA are also required.

Licensed practical nurses are also eligible to apply and may qualify for advanced placement through the university's LPN to RN transitions course.

Applications and reference letters may be submitted by email to [email protected] or mailed to Lincoln University School of Nursing, Truman Education Center, 4904 Constitution Ave., Building 499, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473. For more information, contact the Fort Leonard Wood campus office at 573-329-5160.
