WASHINGTON - The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) today praised the bipartisan passage of the Fix Our Forests Act (S. 1462) by the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. The following statement may be attributed to Sam Whitfield, APCIA's senior vice president of federal government relations and political management.
"APCIA commends the Senate Agriculture Committee for advancing the Fix Our Forests Act. This is a critical step toward addressing the nation's escalating wildfire crisis and the growing insurance challenges facing communities in fire-prone regions. We urge the full Senate to swiftly consider and pass the Fix Our Forests Act, ensuring that communities across the country are better equipped to prevent, respond to, and recover from devastating fires."
APCIA and a broad range of organizations support S. 1462, the Fix Our Forests Act. APCIA along with the other insurance trade organizations sent a letter to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and Senate Leaders Thune and Schumer.
