The program provides essential water safety skills while building confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging through athletics. With hands-on support from trained instructors, students are proving they are capable, competitive, and ready to thrive both in and out of the pool.

Elementary students celebrate big literacy gains
Nathan Adams Elementary School will host a Catch Up & Read event at 4 p.m., on Tuesday, May 12, celebrating student growth in literacy. The program is helping Dallas ISD students build confidence and strengthen foundational reading skills. The event highlights the impact of targeted instruction and the district's commitment to long-term academic success.

Bond community meeting
Dallas ISD is hosting a bond community to discuss future plans for district schools at 5:30 p.m., tonight, at Reinhardt Elementary School. Community members are invited to attend, learn more about proposed projects, and share feedback as the district continues planning for future improvements.

Upcoming budget meetings
The district continues its series of budget meetings to discuss the planning process for the 2026-2027 school year, including two sessions this week.
