Congratulations on Medical Worker Day

I sincerely congratulate the large community of Russian healthcare workers on their professional holiday. All those who work in hospitals, clinics and polyclinics, ambulance stations, large federal medical centres and rural first-aid stations, teachers at medical universities and colleges.

You are all united by a higher purpose of serving people, preserving the health of the nation, and you responsibly fulfil your duty with great dedication. Your achievements are based on painstaking daily work and, of course, the support of your family and friends who understand and accept your busy schedules, night shifts, and your concern for patients.

Special thanks are addressed to all medical workers who serve in the special military operation area. You are working under challenging, extreme conditions, saving and caring for our soldiers and commanders.

Charity and high professionalism are also demonstrated by doctors, junior medical staff, and paramedics who work in our historical territories, caring for and treating civilians, children, and the elderly.

We will continue to strive to ensure availability of high-quality modern medical care throughout our large country. Together with the regions, we will go on developing primary health care and pediatric medicine, and we will increase construction, repairs, and equipment supplies for them.

We are launching projects, alongside scientists and leading technology companies, to create new, advanced biomedical technologies, including genetic and cell technologies. All these developments expand the possibilities for early detection and treatment of complex diseases, to maintain an active, productive human life.

At the same time, it is crucial that scientific achievements reach primary healthcare as fast as possible, be applied in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation centres, to ensure decent working conditions for medical workers, so that the medical profession could be among the most prestigious ones and young gifted people, dreaming of fulfilling their mission and realising their talent, chose medicine as their vocation.

I am confident that experienced mentors will pass on to them not only knowledge, but also the most important values for which Russian healthcare has always been famous: respect for people, loyalty to medical duty, mercy and responsibility.
