Shepherd University Awards Fine Family Trust Full-Ride Scholarships to Martinsburg High Graduates

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - Today Shepherd University announced the recipients of the Fine Family Trust Scholarship, a prestigious award that provides full tuition to Martinsburg High School graduates who choose to pursue their education at Shepherd. The scholarship is renewable and continues throughout the recipients' undergraduate careers at the University.

This year's scholarship recipients and their intended majors are:

  • Jason Aguilar Bonilla, Exploratory
  • Syrah George, Elementary Education
  • Amaya Mott, Elementary Education
  • Jack Sowers, Economics
  • Krisdanyeliz Valentin, Graphic Design

The competitive scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, commitment to education, and the intention to pursue a degree at Shepherd.

"We are proud to welcome these outstanding students to Shepherd University," said Cade Miller, associate director of admissions and Shepherd's representative on the scholarship selection committee. "The Fine Family Trust Scholarship not only honors the legacy of Frada Fine but also helps ensure that talented Martinsburg students have the opportunity to pursue a Shepherd education."

Established in 2004 by the family of Frada Fine, a Martinsburg High School and Shepherd University (then Shepherd College) graduate, the Fine Family Trust Scholarship was created to help support the education of future Shepherd Rams.
