January 13 Special Election Information for Voters

A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, to fill the District 23 House of Delegates Seat. Eight precincts in Stafford County vote for District 23. Four of those precincts are located in schools, which will be in session. Stafford asks that voters plan ahead and be mindful of limited parking and busy campuses. The Barrett Heights Precinct, located at North Stafford High School, will be relocated to the Porter Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library.

As schools will be in session, voters should consider the following options to make voting more convenient:

• Early Voting - Early voting is being held at the General Registrar's Office at 124 Old Potomac Church Road, Suite 205, Stafford, VA 22554, starting January 5, 2026. More information is available at this link.
• Vote Outside School Hours - Voting takes place on Election Day from 6 am-7 pm.
• Absentee Ballot - There will be an Absentee Ballot Drop Box available at the General Registrar's Office during normal office hours of 8 am-4:30 pm starting January 5 through Election Day. Drop boxes will be available at all eight precincts on Election Day. Voters may request absentee ballots be mailed to them through January 2.

IMPORTANT PRECINCT CHANGE: The location of the Barrett Heights Precinct, located at North Stafford High School, has been changed due to a lack of space. The precinct will be at the Porter Branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 2001 Parkway Boulevard, Stafford, VA 22554.
