New Delhi, India - Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis traveled to New Delhi last week to deliver remarks at the International Conference on Green Hydrogen at Bharat Mandapam. Drawing thousands of attendees, the conference featured plenary talks and expert panel discussions and provided an opportunity for global industry leaders to engage in conversations around the global goals for green hydrogen.

Chair Lewis spoke during the "USA Perspective" plenary session, reaffirming EXIM's commitment to advancing clean energy solutions. Other panelists included Secretary of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for the Government of India Shri T.K. Ramachandran and Dr. Sunita Satyapal, Director of the U.S. Department of Energy's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office.

During her remarks, Chair Lewis outlined the tools and financing capabilities that EXIM can leverage to support financing of U.S. manufactured fuel cells, electrolyzers, and other related equipment and services in prospective green hydrogen projects under development. In addition to EXIM's Make More in America Initiative, Chair Lewis highlighted the Environmental Exports Program, which can be utilized by exporters who are considering sourcing environmentally beneficial goods and services from the U.S.

"We have a host of solutions available and are dedicated to providing more financing options in renewable and environmentally beneficial sectors."

Throughout her remarks, Chair Lewis reemphasized the importance of the global energy transition to address the climate crisis and reaffirmed EXIM's ongoing commitment to further expand its work in advancing clean energy solutions by financing innovative U.S. commercial technologies in the hydrogen sector, and by building on the U.S. Department of Energy's U.S.-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership to continue our collaboration with India.
