Pfizer’s 2024 Impact Report Highlights Accomplishments in Sustainability, Responsibility

When Pfizer talks about making breakthroughs that change patients' - and people's - lives, we aren't simply referring to scientific discovery and game-changing medicines. We're talking about the impact we have on those patients and peoples' lives, the impact our work has on the world and the environment, and our efforts towards making our medicines available and accessible to as many people as possible.

The 2024 Impact Report provides an overview of Pfizer's priorities and goals related to responsible business growth, which are aimed at contributing to long-term value creation and a responsible and patient-centric business model.

This year's report focuses on Pfizer's impact in the areas of quality and safety; responsible technology; sustainability; global health access and equity; and our commitment to colleagues and communities.

Highlights from our most recent Impact Report include:

  • More than 414M patients reached in 2024 with our medicines and vaccines
  • Robust pipeline: 115 programs in development (Phase 1 through registration, as of February 4, 2025)
  • 65% of suppliers committed to science-based emission reduction targets
  • Named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for the fourth year in a row
  • Moved up to 4th place in 2024 Access to Medicines Index ranking of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies' efforts to improve access to essential medicines in low- and middle-income countries
  • 14 approvals received in 2024 from the U.S Food and Drug Administrationg (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA)
  • Aiming to achieve the Net Zero Standard by 2024 - 10 years earlier than expectations of the standard
  • 38,000+ colleague volunteer hours in 2024, our 175th Anniversary year

"This year's Impact Report highlights our efforts to support a sustainable and ethical global supply chain; transform healthcare delivery in underserved areas in the United States and around the world; and cultivate a culture championing the growth and contributions of our colleagues," states CEO Albert Bourla in the report's opening letter.
