IAHeroes, the first-place winner of this year's competition, was created by Joseph Zambreno, a student at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Joseph's mobile app serves as a digital archive where Iowa veterans, their families, and community members can share stories and honor those who have served, ensuring future generations can learn from and remember the sacrifices of Iowa's veterans.
"Congratulations to Theodore Roosevelt High School student Joseph Zambreno for designing the winning app of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge," said Rep. Nunn .
