Chinese Ambassador to Tonga Liu Weimin Attends the Deck Reception Held by Chinese Naval Hospital Ship 'Silk Road Ark'

On the evening of October 15, the Chinese Navy's hospital ship "Silk Road Ark" hosted a deck reception in Nuku'alofa, Tonga. The event was attended by nearly 200 guests, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Majesty's Armed Forces, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto'a & Crown Princess Sinaitakala, Her Royal Highness Princess Pilolevu Tuita & Lord Tuita, Acting Prime Minister Fusimalohi and Mrs.Fusimalohi, Speaker Lord Fakafanua, other military and political dignitaries, as well as representatives from the Chinese community and Chinese enterprises in Tonga.

Ambassador Liu Weimin emphasized that the "Silk Road Ark" is not only a vessel of health but also a ship of friendship. He noted the fruitful outcomes of China-Tonga cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed China's willingness to deepen mutual trust and friendship through this visit, elevating bilateral relations to a higher level.

Acting Prime Minister Fusimalohi praised the professionalism of the medical team aboard the hospital ship and the health benefits it brought to the local population. He also spoke highly of the partnership between Tonga and China. Senior Captain Fang Jinsong stated that the "Silk Road Ark" represents a vital health link in China-Tonga relations, noting that extensive medical services have already been provided, with further joint medical activities to be advanced.

The event featured captivating cultural performances by both sides, and guests raised their glasses to toast cooperation in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
