Smith: Republicans Cut Taxes For Working Families and Set Stage for Strong Economy in 2026

"This Christmas, as the calendar rolls over to 2026, workers can expect bigger paychecks and the largest tax refunds in U.S. history."

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08) issued the following statement after release of the November jobs report showing the labor market beat expectations and created 64,000 jobs:

"President Trump and Congressional Republicans are delivering for American families with lower taxes, bigger paychecks, more jobs, and record investment in America's future thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts. Unlike under the Biden Administration when inflation shrank paychecks, workers have more real income today under President Trump. Republicans have enacted into law policies that reward hard work and support families who need it most - including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, a bigger Child Tax Credit and Standard Deduction, and stopping the largest tax hike in U.S. history. This Christmas, as the calendar rolls over to 2026, workers can expect bigger paychecks and the largest tax refunds in U.S. history."
